Customer Spotlight March Edition
Meet our gorgeous customer Camilla, a speech & drama teacher based in New Zealand.
I am Camilla, married with two grown up children, living in New Zealand having emigrated over 18 years ago from the UK. I run Flourish speech & drama club for children aged 5 to 17 years which I've done for around 16 years. Before I bought my business, I was a primary school teacher both in the UK & when we first arrived in Aotearoa New Zealand. I love what I do & feel very privileged to be a part of so many youngsters' lives, helping them develop self confidence & communication skills through drama. The children I teach really do "flourish"!
Living in the Bay of Plenty on the North Island, we are lucky enough to be five minutes from the beach & we have a very active lifestyle so my choice in clothing reflects that relaxed beach vibe. The summer can be long & extremely hot while we can count the number of days of really cold winter weather on one hand so it's not too bad. Teaching drama is a physical activity & what I wear to classes has to be cool & comfortable. Good shoes & decent swimwear over here are really expensive!
I love shopping for clothes but can be a bit of an impulse buyer. Because of this, I've purchased one or two shockers in the past. Then I have to go to the effort of trying to get a refund or a credit note. I should just stick to what I know looks good, feels fantastic & fits well.
I've been lucky enough to visit Singapore a handful of times over the years. I love popping into Theresa's Haji Lane shop because it's such a wonderful, vibrant & colourful place. Her designs are beautiful; there's something for everyone. I'm sure if I was a bit more local, I'd be in there weekly & my wardrobe would be bursting with colour!
For a pop of colour and a great fit, I styled Camilla in the Aretha mini This is one of our best selling styles featuring a V neckline and A-line skirt. This flattering cut dress can be worn during the day with flat sandals or dressed up with heels for the evening.
Special thanks to Camilla for allowing me to photograph and style her.
